Break Housing Information

The residence halls are closed at the following times of the year: Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break and Summer.

Students may apply for break housing (via an application on the Housing Portal App) if one of the following reasons apply to them:

  • Their permanent residence is more than four hours away from campus;
  • University-related work, internship, or academic commitment;
  • Active, in-season athlete; or
  • Other exception listed in individual application or approved by Residence Life.

The charge for break housing is $50/night and will be billed to a student account within ten days of their stay.

Students are not permitted to have guests while staying in break housing. Typical dining hours and meal options are not in effect during break housing periods, Business Affairs will release information regarding dining near the break.

The University reserves the right to deny break housing applications for any student not in good conduct standing or who presents behavioral concerns.
