Andrea Bartoli, Ph.D.
The Heart of the University Retreat Series gives faculty and administrators of all faiths the opportunity for input and guided reflection. The series is co-sponsored by the Office of Mission and Ministry, and the Center for Vocation and Servant Leadership.
The third retreat, given by Andrea Bartoli, Ph.D. and Elizabeth Halpin, M.A., on the theme of Transformation and Leadership: Let the Spirit Speak Through You, will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021, from 9 to 11 a.m. via Microsoft Teams.
Elizabeth Halpin, M.A.,
Leadership is a recent, secular word. Yet in the context of a Catholic University, leadership cannot be disjoined from responding to the Word that is received first (discipleship) and shared with others (mission). We lead when we open ourselves to the Spirit and accept our role as speakers, authors of a new history made with the One who makes our hearts burn when He speaks to us on the way, and opens the Scriptures to us.
Dr. Andrea Bartoli is a faculty member in the Department of the Core and President of the Sant'Egidio Foundation for Peace and Dialogue. He specializes in peacemaking and genocide prevention.
Elizabeth Halpin, M.A., Associate Dean of the School of Diplomacy and International Relations, will co-facilitate this retreat.
