Pirates at Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend 2024
Seton Hall University is thrilled to announce Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend 2025, taking place from Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 5. This signature fall celebration is designed to bring together alumni, parents, families, students, faculty, staff and the surrounding South Orange community for a weekend filled with fun, connection and Pirate Pride.
This year’s festivities arrive on the heels of Seton Hall’s historic philanthropic campaign launch, "For All, Forever: A Campaign for a Greater Seton Hall." Announced earlier this month, the $225 million campaign is the most ambitious in University history and will expand opportunities for the next generation of Setonians while strengthening the University’s position among the nation’s Catholic institutions.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend, which welcomed more than 1,500 members of the Pirate family back to campus, this year’s celebration promises even more opportunities to reconnect, reminisce and make new memories.
“Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend is a true celebration of Pirate Pride and the strength of our community,” said Anthony Bellucci, M.B.A. ’18, Associate Vice President of Alumni Engagement and Philanthropy, “Coming right after the launch of For All, Forever, it’s an exciting moment to reflect on our shared traditions while also looking ahead to the impact we can create together through the campaign.”
The weekend will kick off with one of Seton Hall’s newest traditions, Stomp the Hall: Seton Hall NPHC Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend Step Show, now in its second year. Guests can expect an electric and energetic display of Divine Nine culture as Seton Hall’s historically black fraternities and sororities, along with guest performers, showcase their tradition of step.
From there, the weekend will continue with a wide variety of events and activities across campus. Families can enjoy carnival rides and games on the Green, while sports fans cheer on Seton Hall’s men’s soccer team, women’s softball team and the swim and dive squad. Basketball enthusiasts can get their first look at the men’s and women’s teams at the Seton Hall Basketball All-Star Showcase. Younger Pirates will love the Student Alumni Association’s hay bale maze and pumpkin smash, while parents looking to expand their minds can take part in Inside Seton Hall: A Parent Experience which invites them to step inside and experience the lessons that inspire our students every day. These special classroom sessions will include an open forum with students and faculty sharing the latest news, lectures and highlights followed by a Q&A.
In addition to athletics and academics, the weekend will be alive with music, food and fellowship. Guests can look forward to live entertainment throughout campus, food trucks and refreshments and special giveaways. Saturday will also feature the Oktoberfest Tent Happy Hour, running from 3:30 to 6 p.m., with seasonal snacks, beverages, beer (from Glenbrook Brewery) and the chance to relax by the fire pits with live music. On Sunday, the celebration concludes with the always-popular Jazz Brunch, offering a buffet, mimosa bar, live music from the Seton Hall Jazz Band and remarks from University leadership.
Hall Homecoming and Family Weekend continues Seton Hall’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for Pirates past and present to gather, celebrate and deepen their connection to the University. Whether you are cheering at a game, experiencing the high energy of Stomp the Hall, enjoying live music with your family or reconnecting with classmates over brunch, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
