As the academic year comes to a close, Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE) is inviting the campus community to give back through its end-of-year food drive, aimed at addressing food insecurity both on campus and in surrounding communities.

The drive will run from April 29 through May 12, collecting unopened, non-perishable food items to support students experiencing food insecurity as well as DOVE’s local community partners. Donation bins will be conveniently located in residence halls across campus and at the DOVE Office in Boland Hall, Room 108.

DOVE has a longstanding commitment to responding to hunger and poverty through direct service and community partnerships. Past food drives have supported organizations such as St. John’s Soup Kitchen, the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges and the Pierre Toussaint Food Pantry, while also providing assistance to members of the Seton Hall community in need .

Food insecurity remains a pressing issue nationwide and locally and DOVE continues to encourage students, faculty and staff to take action through simple but meaningful contributions. Donations such as canned goods, pasta, rice and other shelf-stable items can make a direct impact on individuals and families facing hunger. By participating in the food drive, the Seton Hall community has an opportunity to live out its mission of service and solidarity, ensuring that no member of its community or its neighbors goes without basic necessities.
