Rapper and Poet Omar Offendum to Perform at Seton Hall

Seton Hall University welcomes the acclaimed Syrian-American rapper, poet and storyteller Omar Offendum for an evening of meaningful dialogue and performance. This event is free and open to the public and will be held at 6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, April 10, at the Bishop Dougherty University Center Outdoor Amphitheater. 

Offendum, known for blending hip-hop with Arabic and English poetry, has spent two decades performing on global stages, engaging with renowned academic institutions such as Harvard, Yale and Stanford, and collaborating with cultural institutions like the Brooklyn Museum and the Arab American National Museum. His work bridges cultures and generations, using rhythm and storytelling to connect with diverse audiences.

In addition to his creative achievements, Offendum has dedicated his career to humanitarian efforts, helping raise millions for organizations such as UNRWA and the Syrian American Medical Society. His recent success in theater, particularly with the off-Broadway production Little Syria, has earned him recognition in The Public Theater’s New York Voices commission program.

This event offers the Seton Hall community and the public an opportunity to engage with Offendum’s powerful artistic and cultural storytelling. Syrian refreshments will also be served.
