Sooji Kim, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Higher Education
Department of Education Leadership Management and Policy
Sooji Kim is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education in the Department of Education Leadership, Management and Policy at Seton Hall University. Her research examines the intersection of organizational management, behavior, and public policy in higher education. Currently, her work centers on enrollment management, where she explores the organizational elements that contribute to the development of financial aid and admissions systems and policies aimed at ensuring organizational sustainability. She also investigates the differential impacts of these policies on college access and affordability, especially for socioeconomically disadvantaged students. Her research on the federal work-study program was honored with the Jean Flanigan Outstanding Dissertation Award at the annual meeting of the Association for Education Finance and Policy (AEFP). Her other work on college admissions has been published in academic journals and cited in an Amicus Curiae brief in Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) v. Harvard College. Prior to joining Seton Hall, she served as a strategic research fellow in the Division of Strategy and Policy at the University of North Carolina System Office. During her time at the University of Michigan, she contributed to various administrative units through research, including the Rackham Institutional Research Office.
