The Pre-Professional Advising Center (PPAC) is thrilled to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of Seton Hall University's HOSA-Future Health Professionals chapter at this year’s HOSA International Leadership Conference (ILC). In only its second year as a student organization, Seton Hall HOSA made its mark on the international stage this summer, demonstrating the talent, dedication and leadership of our pre-health students.

Megan Lloren, a standout leader within Seton Hall HOSA, was elected to serve as the International Postsecondary/Collegiate Vice President of HOSA - Future Health Professionals. As a member of HOSA’s historic 50th International Executive Council, Megan now represents over 330,000 members worldwide, serving as the voice of postsecondary/collegiate students worldwide. Over the next year, she will be hosting multiple conferences globally and her election is a monumental achievement that reflects her passion for healthcare leadership and advocacy.

Ava Yuen also delivered an exceptional performance, earning second place in Medical Mathematics at the ILC after qualifying by placing third at the State Leadership Conference (SLC). Competing against students from across the nation and internationally, Ava's success showcases the academic excellence and competitive spirit of Seton Hall’s pre-health community.

Additionally, Abil Hamded represented Seton Hall in the Math for Health Professionals event, as well as representing New Jersey as the Postsecondary /Collegiate Voting Delegate. While not placing this year, his position as a voting delegate allowed him to voice New Jersey’s universities’ perspectives and representatives at the international level whilst conducting HOSA’s annual business.

“These achievements are remarkable, especially for such a new club,” said Chantal Vergara, director of the Pre-Professional Advising Center. “We are incredibly proud of Megan, Ava and the entire HOSA team for their dedication and for representing Seton Hall with distinction on an international platform. The PPAC is committed to supporting student organizations like HOSA as they continue to grow and inspire future healthcare leaders.”

Seton Hall HOSA’s presence at the ILC marks a significant milestone in its journey, and with such strong leadership and passion, the future looks bright. The chapter looks forward to expanding its impact on campus and beyond, providing opportunities for students interested in healthcare to develop professional skills, compete at the highest levels and engage in meaningful leadership experiences.

Congratulations again to Megan, Ava and the Seton Hall HOSA team on their outstanding achievements!
