The Employee Benefits Open Enrollment begins on Monday, October 26 and ends on Friday, November 13, 2026. The benefit elections you make during Open Enrollment are effective January 1, 2027.

Please click here for the New 2027 Employee Benefits Rates.

All benefit eligible employees, who wish to make any changes for the new calendar year, must complete their open enrollment benefits elections online via Banner Self-Service. Please login to PirateNet, enter the University Portal, select the “Employee” tab and proceed to the Open Enrollment Website by clicking the blue text.

Open Enrollment elections are in effect for the entire calendar year unless you experience an IRS "qualifying event" (i.e. change in marital status, birth/adoption of a child) and your change must be completed with the Department of Human Resources within 30 days of the event.

Please refer to the 2027 Annual Open Enrollment Notices which includes information regarding Medicare Creditable Coverage.

2027 Plan Year Highlights

The University is initiating two pharmacy-related programs for individuals who take GLP-1 drugs for weight loss (EnCircleRx) and those who take select specialty medications (SaveOnSP). These programs will enable employees and their families to access beneficial medications in a cost-effective manner.

During Open Enrollment, you can:

  • Make changes to, or enroll in, Medical and Dental benefits.
  • Enroll or re-enroll in the health care and/or dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Current maximum contributions are $3,400 for Healthcare FSA with a $680 carryover and $7,500 Dependent Care FSA. Dependent Care is only used to provide either child, under the age of 13 or adult care for you to be able to work and does not have a carryover component. If you do not wish to participate in flexible spending accounts for 2027, you do not need to take any action.
