Gen 1 Summer Program

The Gen 1 summer program (June 24, 2024 – July 12, 2024) is a required virtual three-week institute for accepted Gen-1 students to receive a head start on their college journey by earning four credits. The summer program also provides the opportunity to socially integrate into the Seton Hall community prior to the start of the Fall semester.

The program ensures that our first–generation students have a clear sense of belonging and an understanding of the skills they’ll need to perform college level work, while providing programming to the parents of our students to guide them throughout their student's first year.

Benefits:
  • The program is free of charge.
  • Financial support available.
  • Participate in workshops geared to enhance mental focus, building healthy study habits, financial literacy, and other beneficial skills.
  • Mental health support and programs.
  • Access to 24/7 tutoring.
  • Learn the “culture” of college and how to acclimate to college before classes even begin! Sharpen math and writing skills.
  • Begin community service hours early for University Life class requirement.
  • Meet other first-generation students, faculty, and staff to ensure you have a built-in network of support!
