Resources and Training
In support of Strategic Plan Pillar 2, Seton Hall provides a range of educational programs and resources that help community members foster environments grounded in dignity, respect, and belonging. These trainings reinforce our commitment to maintaining a campus free from harassment and discrimination and equip students, faculty, and staff with skills to engage across differences with empathy and confidence. See the Nondiscrimination/Title IX statement.
NCBI Training
In 2022, Seton Hall partnered with the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) to provide community members the skills to lead further inclusion initiatives in their areas of the University. NCBI is a nationally recognized, award-winning program that earned The Nelson Mandela Award. The U.S. Department of Education has also cited NCBI's work on college campuses as a national "best practice" and awarded it the "excellent" rating for educational significance, quality, usefulness and replicability.
More than thirty faculty, staff and administrators from the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Diplomacy and International Relations, School of Health and Medical Sciences, University Advancement, Office of EEOC and Title IX Compliance, Human Resources, University Libraries, Office of the Provost, and Student Services serve as NCBI Trainers.
Departmental training sessions have occurred in Health Services, Disability Support Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, IHSC, SMHS, Residence Life and Human Resources.
