20th Annual Diversity Issues in Higher Education Conference
"Developing an Agenda for Change – The Laboratory of Higher Education"
Each year the American Conference on Diversity partners with institutions of higher education to bring together educators, students, business leaders, and community members to discuss issues central to educating and empowering leaders and emerging leaders in higher education and the workplace. The multi-day statewide conference is open to the Seton Hall Community.
About the Conference
The Diversity Issues in Higher Education Conference has become one of New Jersey’s premier events to engage both the academic and corporate sectors in tackling the complexities of diversity, equity and inclusion as well as providing pathways towards more just and inclusive institutions. This year’s online conference will feature dynamic speakers and breakout sessions addressing critical diversity challenges in academia, the workplace, and the community at large.

Presidential Laboratory– discussion of their response to multiple challenges posed by the pandemic, response
to racial injustice, and community engagement
Friday, November 20, 2020, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Faculty and Staff Laboratory– addresses issues specific to creating and maintaining a diverse, equitable and inclusive
environment for learning
Note: Seton Hall participants in the Faculty and Staff Laboratory include:
Dr. Harris has contributed to many events hosted at Seton Hall University. Including,
but not limited to, Martin Luther King Jr. Day Symposium, MLKSA's Open Forum: Where
Do we Go From Here?, Citizen Upstander: a Introductory Training to Disrupting Racism,
Freedom Summer Series, and Faith in the Public Square.
Angela Kotsonis is a future aesthetics performance artist writing about race, ethnicity,
and class in America. Kotsonis is committed to literacy through the arts, theater
for social justice, and art-making as a liberatory practice. She teaches professional
development workshops in arts integration using applied and devised theater practices
across the curriculum.
