Pirate Adventure

Welcome Aboard, Class of 2030!
New Student Orientation, referred to as Pirate Adventure, marks the beginning of your Pirate journey. The mission of Pirate Adventure is to welcome and prepare you and your family for your transition to Seton Hall University. During our two-day overnight, you will check off many items on your Pirate checklist so that you are prepared for the first day of classes this Fall.

Register for Pirate Adventure

Enrolled students will receive access to PirateNet where they can register for Pirate Adventure. Students can attend any two-day orientation session from the dates below.

Pirate Adventure 1: June 15 - 16
Pirate Adventure 2: June 17 - 18

Pirate Adventure 3: June 22 - 23
Pirate Adventure 4: June 24 - 25

Please note that special populations may be required to attend specific sessions:
* RISE students are required to choose Pirate Adventure 1 or 2.
* Students majoring in Nursing are encouraged to choose Pirate Adventure 3.

What You Can Expect

Regardless of whether you are living on campus this Fall, our two-day overnight experience is designed to prepare you for life at Seton Hall both academically and socially. You will experience first-hand what Seton Hall has to offer and learn how to make the most of your time here!

Student Pirate Adventure

Day 1

Day 1 of Pirate Adventure will give you a snapshot of life on campus! You will meet your Orientation Leader, learn about the various ways to get involved on campus, participate in social events and activities, and immerse yourself in Seton Hall’s Catholic mission and traditions.

11:30 a.m.	Residence Hall Check-In Your first stop of the day is to check-in to residence hall you will be staying in overnight. If you attend on June 15-16 and June 22-23, you will be staying in Boland Hall. If you attend on June 17-18, you will be staying in Aquinas Hall.	Assigned Residence Hall
12:30 p.m.	Pirate Adventure Check-in After you drop your bags and set-up your room, head over to the University Center to check-in to Pirate Adventure and pick up your materials.	Lobby, University Center
1:15 p.m.	University Welcome Receive a warm welcome from the Division of Student Services and Orientation Leaders as they introduce you to Seton Hall.	Event Room, University Center
2 p.m.	Session Rotations You will attend afternoon sessions in assigned groups. See your nametag, received at check-in, for your group assignment. Laptop Pickup Jubilee Auditorium Pick up your assigned laptop and get everything you need to start the semester successfully. Staff will be available to assist with distribution and answer any questions about your device. Campus Groups 101 Event Room, University Center Learn how to use CampusGroups to get involved, discover student organizations, and stay connected at Seton Hall. This session will help you navigate the platform so you can make the most of your campus experience from day one. OL Connections Various Locations Get to know other first-year students who are experiencing Pirate Adventure with you. Your Orientation Leader (OL) will help break the ice and share their experiences at Seton Hall!	Various Locations
4:30 p.m.	Mass Experience a guided Catholic Mass with the Office of Mission and Ministry and learn more about Seton Hall’s Catholic faith and traditions. All are welcome!	Bethany Hall
5:30 p.m.	Dinner Get to know more about your new home at Seton Hall with your Orientation Leader and peer group over dinner in the Pirate Dining Room.	Dining Hall, University Center
6:45 p.m.	Inside Scoop Get the scoop on getting involved and enjoy Kona Ice!	University Green
8:30 p.m.	Pirates' Treasure The Student Activities Board (SAB) brings fun to campus! Experience your first SAB event — a trivia game show with cash prizes!	Event Room, University Center
9 p.m.	Belonging Begins Here Kick off your college journey with an evening designed to spark connection, community, and the excitement of finding your place at Seton Hall. Meet the RAs and hall staff, dive into a fun activity, enjoy great snacks, and start building the friendships and memories that will shape your year.	Residence Halls

Day 2

On Day 2, your day will be filled with opportunities to immerse yourself in academic life. You will get to meet with deans and faculty from your academic department, register for classes with the help of an Academic Success Advisor, and learn about the various support services available to you.

8:30 a.m.	Breakfast with your Orientation Leader Enjoy breakfast with your OL and peer group in the Pirate Dining Room.	Pirate Dining Room, University Center
9:30 a.m.	Academic Welcome Receive a warm welcome from the Center for Academic Success before you break into your Academic Sessions.	Event Room, University Center
10:30 a.m.	Academic Sessions It's time to meet your Dean, faculty members, and future classmates while learning more about your academic program.	Various Locations
12 p.m.	Session Rotations You will attend afternoon sessions in assigned groups. See your nametag received at Check-in for your group assignment. Lunch Pirate Dining Room, University Center Enjoy lunch with your OL and peer group, followed by an activity with the Division of Volunteer Efforts (DOVE). Registration Assigned Classrooms It's time to register for classes for the Fall semester. Campus Ministry McNulty Auditorium Learn about all the opportunities available to you through Campus Ministry. Orientation Leader Connections Assigned Locations Your OL and peer group are some of your first friends at Seton Hall! Use this time together to ask questions and explore campus.	Various Locations
5 p.m.	End-of-day Wrap-up and Check-out On behalf of the 2026 Summer Orientation staff, we thank you for attending Pirate Adventure. We will continue to stay in touch over the summer and look forward to seeing you at Welcome Weekend (August 28-30). For those living on-campus in the Fall, move-in will take place August 26-27. Things To Do Before Orientation

Placement Testing: When you log in to PirateNet to confirm your attendance, you will see the tests you will be required to take. Each test has a link to the online testing. Placement Testing must be completed by June 1 in order to register during orientation. For general questions, please email academicsuccess@shu.edu.
Laptop Process: Complete the Mobile Computing forms your laptop.
ID Photo Upload: Seton Hall University Campus ID office is utilizing online photo submission for IDs. Please follow instructions below to upload ID photo:
- Download the Transact eAccounts app from the Apple App Store or from the Google Play Store to your phone.
- Open Transact eAccounts app.
- Search for and select Seton Hall University.
- Enter your PirateNet credentials to log in.
- Once logged in, click on the Settings wheel in the upper-right corner.
- Click on Submit ID Photo.
- Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Take note of the photo requirements and upload your photo with a photo of your government issued ID (e.g. license, passport, etc.).

Ahead of your Pirate Adventure date, you will receive an e-mail with information about moving into the residence halls. See below for what you should pack to prepare for your overnight stay..

Summer Virtual Resource Workshops

Seton Hall University's is excited to offer a series of virtual resource workshops this summer. These workshops will get you acclimated to life at Seton Hall and introduce you to key departments, procedures and resources that we have to offer.
