Microsoft Teams: Private Channels Update

Microsoft Teams private channels will transition to using a channel mailbox. This increases limits to 1,000 channels per team and 5,000 members per channel, supports meetings in private channels and moves compliance policies from individual mailboxes to the team’s group mailbox.

Microsoft Outlook: Mobile Device Settings Update

The Mobile Devices Settings page will be removed from Outlook on the web and the new Outlook. Users will no longer be able to manage or remove mobile device connections directly within Outlook. Instead, device management can be done through the My Account portal or, where applicable, through Microsoft Intune. Daily email use is not affected and no action is required unless users need to remove or manage a connected device.

Microsoft Word: eSignature Free Text Field Support

Microsoft Word supports free text fields when using eSignature. This update allows signers to add information such as names, dates or notes directly into designated text boxes, making the signing process more flexible and efficient. This feature is on by default and only affects users actively using eSignature.

Microsoft Teams: Improved Call Transfer on Teams Phone Devices

Teams Phone devices offer an improved call transfer experience. Users can see call status in real time and receive clearer prompts when transferring calls, making it easier to confirm that a transfer has been successfully completed. The improvements work on both touch and non-touch devices.

Microsoft Teams: Collaborative Notes in Chats

Teams chats now support Collaborative Notes, allowing participants to create, edit and share meeting notes directly within the chat. Notes are synchronized in real time, making it easier for everyone to contribute and stay aligned without switching to another app.
