Internships
Located just 14 miles from New York City, one of the world’s leading sports and entertainment markets, Seton Hall’s Sport Management program puts students at the center of an unparalleled professional sports landscape. Situated in northern New Jersey, the program is close to major venues and organizations, including the Meadowlands Sports Complex, Prudential Center, numerous professional and collegiate teams and several media networks.
A short train ride takes students to New York Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, where Seton Hall students have secured internships in event management, ticketing, facility management and operations and team and venue administration. Students have also gained experience working with organizations such as the New York Knicks, the New York Yankees, and the New Jersey Devils.
The program’s location also provides access to major professional league offices, sports organizations, and sports marketing and entertainment firms throughout the New York Metropolitan area. Whether your interests are in professional teams, collegiate athletics, facility and event management, sports marketing or ticketing, or another area of the industry, the region offers a wide range of opportunities to gain practical experience and build professional connections.
Seton Hall Sport Management students, both undergraduate and graduate, are required to complete two internships with sport organizations for academic credit, totaling six credits. Undergraduate students may begin completing internships for credit as early as the summer following their first year. The Center stresses experiential learning as a combination with the practical in-class education.
