Seton Hall University to Host Cybersecurity Summer Course for High School Students

Students seen using a computer device.In response to the increasing demand for cybersecurity professionals, high school students now have a unique opportunity to get a head start. The course, Essentials of Cybersecurity and Information Security, is being offered at Seton Hall University to provide an in-depth introduction to the principles and practices essential for protecting digital information.

The program will be held at the South Orange campus from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 7, through Thursday, July 17, 2025, and will feature a mix of engaging lectures, hands-on exercises and real-world case studies. Students will explore the fundamentals of cybersecurity, learning how to defend against cyber threats, protect sensitive data and navigate the ethical aspects of digital security.

Through topics like encryption, network security and threat analysis, they will gain a deeper understanding of cybersecurity’s vital role in daily life, business and government.

These areas will be taught with hands-on exercises that mimic real-world situations, where students will develop vital problem-solving and critical thinking skills, equipping them for a career in this high-demand industry.
