Slavic Halloween Night  

halloween decorations slavic clubOn October 30th, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., in Fahy 236, Slavic Club, will hold its Halloween Night by featuring the movie Gogol. Viy (Russian: Гоголь. Вий), with English subtitles. This 2018 fantasy-horror film was directed by Egor Baranov. This event will be presented by Prof. Tatiana Shiloff.

Nikolai Gogol, a scribe from St. Petersburg, challenges the mysterious Dark Horseman, who brutally deals with girls in the vicinity of the village of Dikanka. Gathering a team of a local policeman, a drunken doctor, a superstitious blacksmith, and a wandering philosopher-exorcist, Gogol tries to lure the villain into a trap. Still, the most terrible creature of evil spirits stands in his way – Viy, one glance of which can suck the soul of a mortal. Unexpectedly for himself, Gogol finds out that not only mysterious visions associate him with other worldly forces.

Come to relax while snacking and watching this scary movie.
