'Why You Won't Save The World as a Peace Corps Volunteer, But Might Save a Community'  

The Slavic Club is sponsoring a lecture, "Why You Won't Save The World as a Peace Corps Volunteer, But Might Save a Community." The lecture will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 6:30 p.m., in Fahy 236.

The panel of our presenters who served in the Peace Corps will consist of Christopher J Millius (in Moldova), Aaron Van Dorn (in Bulgaria) and Ken Williams (in Afghanistan and Armenia).

The Peace Corps serves in more than 60 countries on many of the world's pressing issues. Our speakers will discuss the benefits of Peace Corps service; their personal experiences; and about their challenging, but rewarding and inspirational moments, while serving across the Eastern-Europe and the Middle East. They will talk about their travels working as, TEFL instructors, small business development consultants and community leaders.

The guest speakers will tell us how their Peace Corps service helped them gain new skills and how they have been able to transfer these skills back to the U.S to their various careers.

Come and discover the benefits of Peace Corps service from the returned volunteers.

Q&A session will give everyone an opportunity to ask questions about the possibility of serving in the Peace Corps and its benefits in their own future careers.
