Faculty Laptops

The University encourages faculty to integrate the use of technology into the curriculum and supports the use of the laptop / tablet computer for teaching and learning. As part of this process, all full-time faculty participate in the Mobile Computing program and are issued a laptop as part of the program.

Policies and procedures have been developed which govern faculty participation in the Mobile Computing Program.

Faculty Laptop Models

All new full-time faculty will receive the current model laptop.

Laptop Repair

All support services at the University are maintained in-house and on-site. To view the support services available at SHU, visit the Technology Self-Service Portal.

  • The Technology Service Desk provides first level technical phone support for your laptop. To reach the Technology Service Desk, dial (973) 275-2222.
  • The Hardware Repair Shop staffs the Technical Support Area which provides on-site technical hardware and software support for your laptop. The Technical Support Area is located in Corrigan Hall Room 29.

Laptop Software Image

In order to ensure the successful integration of the laptop into your coursework, the University has selected and licensed a core suite of software. All of the laptops are pre-loaded with this standard suite of software.  Click here to view information about the current laptop software image.
