Banner Insights

Project

Insights Preview

Banner Insights is Seton Hall University’s next step in creating a more data-informed and agile institution. As part of the Digital Transformation initiative, it will deliver a modern reporting and analytics environment that gives faculty and staff timely, accurate information to guide decision-making across the University.

Replacing the legacy ODS system, Banner Insights integrates data from Banner and other sources into a secure, cloud-based platform. It offers intuitive dashboards and analytics without burdening transactional systems, enabling more efficient and transparent access to information.

Project Goal

The project aims to improve data availability, access, and usability, empowering University stakeholders with self-service analytics and user-friendly tools that support data-driven decisions.

Project Leadership

The Reporting Subcommittee guides the transition from Seton Hall’s current ODS environment to Ellucian Insights, ensuring the University’s reporting needs are met and optimized. The group is responsible for reviewing and refining the reporting inventory, identifying and prioritizing critical information needs, and recommending improvements to data models and processes. It also evaluates the use of Cognos, Power BI, and native Insights capabilities, while coordinating communication across functional areas and ensuring appropriate testing, training, and support for users throughout the implementation.
