NBC Executive Amy Rosenfeld Joins Seton Hall as Professional-in-Residence

amy-rosenfeldAmy Rosenfeld, who has spent decades in the sports television business — first at ESPN and now at NBC Sports — is joining Seton Hall University as a Professional-in-Residence this fall.

Rosenfeld is currently Senior Vice President, Olympics and Paralympics Production for NBC Sports, overseeing all of the network’s Olympic and paralympic coverage. She will co-teach a Live Sports Production class with Center for Sports Media Executive Director B.J. Schecter, focusing on the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy as well as the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles. Rosenfeld will also participate in Center for Sports Media events and will be available to mentor select students.

“Amy Rosenfeld is a pro’s pro and continues to raise the bar in live sports coverage,” said Schecter. “Students will get to learn in real time how to plan and execute coverage of a huge international event from someone who is doing it every day. Amy will be a huge asset to the University and our students. I can’t wait to begin working closely with her.”

One of Rosenfeld’s crowing achievements so far at NBC was the idea for and implementation of Gold Zone, a whiparound show which showcased key moments of Olympic events as they happened.

Gold Zone is my baby,” said Rosenfeld. “I haven’t had children, but I feel like I have one in Gold Zone. It’s all about the idea of discovery. We want to expose people to more sports than just [the big events like] swimming, gymnastics and track and field.”

Prior to coming to NBC in 2022, Rosenfeld oversaw coverage of many large events for ESPN, including several men’s and women’s World Cups, the Indianapolis 500, the X Games and many others.

Students in the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media’s Live Sports Production course will have the opportunity to tour NBC Sports’ campus in Stanford, CT, during the semester. A few selected students from the course will also have the opportunity to intern for NBC in Stamford during the 2026 Winter Games.

“Our College is thrilled to have a professional of Amy Rosenfeld’s caliber teaching our students,” commented Bryan Crable, dean of the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media. “With our Center for Sports Media, Seton Hall students have a set of opportunities and experiences that aren’t available anywhere else, and thanks to Amy and NBC Sports we have now added the Winter Olympics to the list. For students interested in sports media, this is truly a dream come true.”
