About the Buccino Leadership Institute

Develop Leadership Skills That Set You Apart

The Buccino Leadership Institute is Seton Hall University's premier undergraduate leadership development program. Bringing together students from every academic discipline, the Institute empowers future leaders to grow personally, professionally and academically through transformative experiences inside and outside the classroom.

What Makes BLI Different?

At the Buccino Leadership Institute, students learn leadership by practicing it. They're challenged to step outside their comfort zones and are supported along the way.

An Interdisciplinary Community

Buccino students come from around the country and are pursuing degrees in every college at the University. A nursing major might lead a project alongside a finance major and a communication major. Students develop the collaboration and adaptability needed to lead in today's workplace before they get there.

Leadership Through Experience

Students apply what they learn through collaborative projects, experiential learning opportunities, community engagement and student-led initiatives that challenge them to solve problems, lead teams and create lasting impact.

Mentorship for Growth

Students receive guidance from Institute staff, upper-class mentors and professional coaches who help them identify strengths, navigate challenges and continue growing as leaders. Personalized feedback encourages continuous development throughout their time in the Institute.

Leadership Beyond Graduation

The Buccino experience helps students build the communication, teamwork, critical thinking and leadership skills employers value most as student's move into the next stage. Graduates join a network of over 500 alumni working at top organizations across industries.
