MHA Admission Requirements

We your application and questions about the admission process. The admission criteria listed below applies to all of Seton Hall's MHA degree programs and certificates:

Unless noted otherwise, references below to "MHA" are interchangeable with all Graduate Certificate requirements.

Are you a candidate for the Seton Hall MHA program?

The MHA program draws individuals from varied healthcare organizations, including hospitals, assisted-living facilities, managed care organizations, healthcare systems and pharmaceutical companies, in addition to clinical professionals and military personnel.

While mid- to senior-level professionals in healthcare and related fields comprise a large number of applicants, individuals who are highly motivated and disciplined, and who have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, are welcome to apply for admission consideration.

Full-time employees of Atlantic Health System, Hackensack Meridian Health and JAG Physical Therapy are eligible for a 25% tuition discount.  Please email shms@shu.edu for more details.

On-Campus or Online/Hybrid?

During the application process, students declare which MHA program they prefer to pursue: online/hybrid or on-campus. The use of online/hybrid designation attests to the required three intensive residencies together with online education. Your choice of MHA program does not affect the admission decision.

Application Deadlines:

Applications for admission to the Online/Hybrid MHA Program are due:

  • July 1 for the Fall semester (begins with August Intensive/Residency)

Applications for admission to the On-Campus MHA Program are due:

  • August 1 for the Fall semester
  • December 1 for the Spring semester

A custom application has been created exclusively for Seton Hall University allowing our applicants to request their evaluation at a discounted rate. You can access the application here: SpanTran Application - Seton Hall University.
    • Failure to submit a required credential evaluation from a NACES member will result in your application for admission being incomplete and, thus, unable to be reviewed.
  • Three letters of recommendation indicating that the applicant possesses the aptitude and ambition to complete a course of study for the MHA degree. Preferably, letters should be from current or previous employers and/or from last school attended.
  • Statement of goals and career interests.

Exception to this requirement may be granted if the applicant is a U.S. resident and a graduate of a U.S. college within the previous two years.
