finance skills. To exploit opportunities and manage risks, financial institutions
and corporate finance organizations actively seek qualified people who demonstrate
advanced capabilities in finance, investments, mathematics, modeling, and software
applications.
Seton Hall's Mathematical Finance concentration is an interdisciplinary course of
study that develops a student’s practical knowledge of finance and applicable skills
in mathematics. The concentration prepares and qualifies students for corporate careers
as well as graduate study. Students who enjoy mathematics or seek quantitative careers
in finance are strongly encouraged to consider our Mathematical Finance concentration.
Seton Hall University has been a member of the CFA Institute’s University Recognition
Program since 2014, among the earliest universities so recognized. Its undergraduate
programs in Finance, Mathematical Finance, and Finance and Technology incorporate
at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and place
strong emphasis on the CFA Institute’s Ethical and Professional Standards. These state-of-the
art programs provide students with the foundation for earning the prestigious Chartered
Financial Analyst® designation, the most highly recognized and globally respected
credential in the investment management profession. In being a CFA University Recognition
Program, Seton Hall has the privilege of granting over a dozen CFA scholarships annually
to support qualified students in their pursuit of the CFA designation.

Curriculum
Mathematical Finance is an interdisciplinary concentration that combines advanced
mathematical studies with practical applications of finance and investment principles.
The concentration consists of 22 credits in calculus, linear algebra, finance, and
investment courses, as well as 6 credits in advanced finance courses. Our business
curriculum's flexibility has enabled many of our students to complete dual concentrations
in Mathematical Finance and another business concentration.
