Dual Degree

B.S. Biology/M.S. Molecular Bioscience

At Seton Hall, students can earn their B.S. in Biology and their M.S. Molecular Bioscience within only one additional year.

The 3+2 dual-degree program complements the foundational skills students obtain during their undergraduate studies by expanding students’ knowledge of advanced biological theory and concepts.

Designed to train students in the research methods and laboratory skills needed to excel as modern-day scientists, the program offers numerous path options for the M.S. degree that can be customized based on career interests and goals.

Plus, attaining both degrees in a short timeframe helps to save on tuition costs, advance career progression and opens doors to other advancement opportunities such as presenting at conferences or publishing research results.

Students using the Seton Hall University test optional admission process must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.6 (on a 4.0 scale) for consideration. International students must submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores.

The dual degree program offers students an opportunity to apply at the end of their junior and begin the graduate phase of their education in their senior year, when students complete all requirements, including the GPA requirements and all other course requirements within the Department of Biological Sciences, college core and University core.

Curriculum

Both degrees can be earned in five years through the accelerated curriculum. Students first complete the B.S. in Biology and then transition into the graduate phase of the dual-degree program after their junior year.

Students begin taking graduate coursework in their senior year before completing the master’s degree program in their fifth and final year.
