B.A. or B.S./M.B.A. Program

You can be practical and pursue your passion! The College of Arts and Sciences and the Stillman School of Business offer a joint program that leads to two degrees: a bachelor's degree in any liberal arts or sciences major and a Master of Business Administration with any of our exciting business concentrations: Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Information Technology Management, Management, Marketing, Sport Management, or Supply Chain Management. 

This dual degree empowers you to be yourself and be successful, whatever undergraduate field of study you enjoy. Pursue natural synergies between Math and Finance, Creative Writing and Marketing, or Computer Science and Business Analytics; or pursue your own combination. The M.B.A. gives you an edge whether you study Biochemistry or Religion, Philosophy or Physics, Modern Languages or Sociology.  

By articulating your intellectual pursuits with advanced management expertise, this dual degree prepares you to excel on the job market and in your career even as you study what you love.     • In consultation with the faculty advisor for the M.B.A., students complete the last 10 credits of their undergraduate degree by choosing 10 credits from the following graduate business courses: BMBA 9450 The Launch Experience; BMBA 9451 Corporate Social Responsibility; BMBA 9452 International Perspective; BMBA 9456 Management Theory and Practice; BMBA 9457 Market Decision Making.
    • Internships, employment, coursework, or other experiences might allow students to waive one or more of these pre-qualifiers. Contact Assistant Dean Mark Schild for more information.
  • M.B.A. curriculum credit-bearing courses. 25 credits of core coursework and 15 credits of electives.

Consult course descriptions for more details. If these requirements can be met in fewer than 150 credit hours, students may take elective courses to complete the 150 credit-hour minimum.

Program Overview and Admissions

With the help of dedicated advisors in both the College of Arts and Sciences and the Stillman School of Business, students carefully select courses to complete the requirements for both degrees in as few as 150 credit hours. Students spend their first three years taking arts and sciences courses. After the completion of 75 credit hours, the student submits an application form for the M.B.A. program.

Admission is granted to Seton Hall students who meet or exceed the following criteria:

  • Obtaining a cumulative college GPA of 3.4 or higher, OR
  • Scoring within the 50th percentile (i.e., 570) or higher in any graduate level standardized test (i.e., GMAT, GRE, LSAT), OR
  • Obtaining a 3.0 GPA or higher AND a score in the 30th percentile (i.e., 500) or higher in any graduate level standardized test (i.e., GMAT, GRE, LSAT)

Students in the program take a mixture of arts and sciences and business courses in the fourth year. The fifth year is reserved exclusively for graduate business courses. When the student has completed all undergraduate degree requirements and a minimum of 120 credit hours, the student receives a bachelor’s degree. After completing the M.B.A. requirements and a minimum of 150 total credit hours, the student also receives an M.B.A.

Students in this dual-degree program effectively save the cost of 10 undergraduate credits, because those credits are fulfilled by 10 credits of graduate study that count toward both the undergraduate and graduate degrees. The total credit hours consist of a minimum of 110 undergraduate credits and 40 graduate business credits. Because the requirements of specific College of Arts and Sciences concentration majors may vary greatly, dual-degree candidates should be individually counseled by advisers in both the College of Arts and Sciences and the Stillman School of Business.
