The Seton Hall women's basketball team couldn't get the win at Butler, as they fell to the Bulldogs 66-48 Sunday afternoon.

The Pirates started the game strong in the first half, forcing 12 turnovers. The Pirates were able to turn those 12 turnovers into 12 points. Though the women allowed a 9-0 run in the first quarter, the Pirates came back with three steals to keep them within one going in the second quarter.

Seton Hall shot 3-for-6 from the three in the second quarter, with two of those coming from JaQuan Jackson and Inja Butina to end the half on a 6-0 run. The Hall controlled the first two quarters, scoring 30 points and hitting 5-for-8 from behind the arc and went 4-for-7 from the charity stripe.

The Pirates, however, were ice cold in the second half.

Early in the third, Donnaizha Fountain picked up her fourth foul of the game. After that foul, the Bulldogs went on two separate 8-0 runs. The Bulldogs scored 22 points in the quarter compared to the Pirates eight that came early in the third. Though Taylor Brown went 2-for-2 from the line, the Pirates only shot 3-for-14 from the field and went 0-for-6 from behind the arc. In the fourth, the pirates only shot 2-for-14 from the field and only hit 1-for-8 from the three. Butina and Brown found themselves in foul trouble, fouling out near the end of the quarter

The Pirates ended the game having made just 26 percent of their field goals. Jackson led all Pirates in scoring with 10 points to go along with a team-high three steals. Freshman Kimi Evans got her third straight start with four points and a career-high three offensive boards. The Pirates in total scored 20 points off the 21 turnovers from Butler. The bench performed well for the Pirates, scoring 16 of the Pirates' 48 points.

The Pirates are now 1-4 in Big East play and are 9-7 on the season. They hit the court again on Wednesday, January 10th as they take on Xavier in Cincinnati. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. You can catch all the action on 89.5 FM WSOU,, or on the iheartradio app.
